I’ve been lightly watering the troughs over the last couple of weeks. We are getting weirdly warm February weather, including a couple of Chinooks. So the containers have thawed and the plants are starting to think it’s time to wake up. Now I’ve had blooms on the balcony as early as mid-March, but it’s still early.
Today, the promised heavy snow fall warning turned out to be real, so the troughs are back to sleep, tucked in under a nice heavy, insulating cover of snow. No watering needed now, for a week or so.
